The Postgraduate School came into existence
on October 1, 1976 as the successor of the former Board
of Postgraduate Studies. The School was set up to cope
with the expansion of Postgraduate programmes in the
University which is aimed at meeting the manpower development
of the country. By virtue of its central position, the
School is better placed to co-ordinate, harmonize and
streamline all postgraduate regulations among the various
Faculties. The School, which in essence has the status
of a Faculty, has a Board composed of:
The Vice-Chancellor (Chairman)
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor
The Dean of the Postgraduate School
The Deans of Faculties
Heads of Departments and Directors of Institutes
with Postgraduate Programmes
The Sub-Deans (Postgraduate) of Faculties
Faculty Representatives (One each)
